Beaches are often very windy and sometimes rain so be prepared for either on the day of your session. I recommend light colors and breathable fabrics such as cotton or linen to keep everyone comfortable. Flowy dresses, shorts, and short-sleeved shirts work well to capture the relaxed and carefree atmosphere of the beach. Also, bring a change of clothes and towels because your children will want to play in the water!
