Newborn Lifestyle Sessions tell the story of your family's first days with your newborn. There are lots of cuddles, adoring looks, and kisses! Older siblings usually bring some silliness which is welcomed and encouraged! I gently guide your family to create relaxed and candid images during these sessions. My role is to observe and see how you interact with each other. I photograph moments that naturally happen and would go unnoticed by most people, but these tiny moments are loved because they capture what your family is really like during this time. These sessions are beautiful and emotional and will bring tears to your eyes every time you look at them.
I offer two types of session styles for families to choose from, portrait and lifestyle. For newborn portrait sessions, I will move and pose the baby to create beautiful photos where the baby is the focus. You do not need to worry about newborn outfits or props; I will provide everything for you. If you choose lifestyle photos, I will take photos of you holding and interacting with your baby, these sessions are about capturing the family dynamic. Both session styles create beautiful images your family will love, but this decision is a personal one for you to make based on your style and preferences. Safety First
The safety of your precious child is my first priority before and during the photoshoot. I have completed training courses and continue to train with internationally known newborn photographers and baby health experts so that my techniques and safety standards are in line with the best in the industry. I want my families to relax and enjoy the magic of a newborn session, knowing that the baby is in very capable hands.
The Baby is Here!
A few days after the baby is born let me know so we can confirm your session date. All newborn sessions are tentative until the baby is born to allow for some flexibility if the baby decides to come earlier or later than expected. Lifestyle sessions can be taken at any during the first month after birth.
Day of the Session
Newborn sessions are held in the comfort of the client’s home, this is for the comfort of the baby and convenience for the new parents. Newborns will likely sleep during the session and being in a warm, familiar environment where they can be fed as needed is ideal. Photos are best taken during the time of day when your home has the most natural light. Newborn sessions last for 2-3 hours to allow plenty of time for feeding and cuddling.
Older siblings are welcome to take photos with the new baby. Older children should have an activity to keep them quietly entertained while the newborn session is taking place.
